Mission Statement:  Our goal is to have both crafter and the attending public alike say, "I found Lagniappe at the Summer Solstice and League of Maine Craft Shows!"

In the summer of 1982 a few fellow crafter friends and I held our first Summer Solstice Craft Show on the lawn of the Wells Junior High School.  It was our desire to offer crafters a venue to display, demonstrate and sell their quality handcrafted items to our seasonal visitors and local residents.  We wanted to share, promote and celebrate creativity while offering a quality,enjoyable shopping experience.  Thanks to the support of our crafters, artisans and the attending public our shows have grown to be three of the most recognizable shows held on the seacoast of Maine.  We are very proud of our shows and crafters and have strived to maintain the integrity of high quality shows with multiple craft media.  The Summer Solstice and League of Maine Craft Shows have always been run and juried by fellow crafts people.

I was truly privileged to wear the title of Show Director to these shows.

We hope to meet you at one or all of this years' shows.

A Note from Darr... The Summer Solstice and League of Maine Craft Shows are my heart’s offering to crafters and the community.  It was my desire, 39 years ago, to offer crafters a venue to display, demonstrate and sell their quality handcrafted items to our seasonal visitors and local residents.   A vision of love and dedication that started on the front lawn of the Wells Jr. High School with 15 crafters. . .   I have truly been blessed and privileged to own these shows and be the Show Director of these shows for so many years.   The shows are thriving, but with my health issues, I know it is time to pass the torch.  I am delighted to announce that our shows have a new owner!  As of December 1st, Rita Poli will take over the Summer Solstice and League of Maine Craft Shows.  Rita’s intention is to keep the essence and business vision the same while making the shows her own.  And of course, I plan to be involved as much as I can. . . We hope to see you at one or all of our shows in 2022. . .     Darr
